Is there anybody knows how web 2.0 can impact HRM department in companies?

I am doing my project " Impact of Web 2.0 on Human Resource Management (HRM)" any resource which can help to know about the topic will be appreciated.

Is there anybody knows how web 2.0 can impact HRM department in companies?
Not much really.

There are in-house hosted HRIS systems for any size company as well as software-as-a-service HRIS as well. We may see the web-as-platform (or Web 2.0) grow in the area of interconnectedness among firms.

Think of the outbound data from the HR department w/r/t benefits etc. Same with inbound data from recruiting services. 2.0 type applications would replace the current web of flat file transfers, email attached data, and better leverage web services for real time transfer. Do we need real time transfer of HR data? Like with everything else, we'll find a need once we have it.

Using 2.0 type outsourced HRIS is no different than using any outsourced HR data service w/r/t security. Questions about duplicating data to use within the fire wall will be the same. Many businesses use the HRIS as their central data store.

It's within the firewall that 2.0 based applications begin to be a threat to current commercial applications. Web 2.0 tools are cheap and the applications easier to develop than current apps still utilizing their old COBOL cores - PeopleSoft and Lawson the last time I checked. For a small firm like the one I work at a 2.0 app utilizing the web as it's platform with a MySQL database on the back end will be a lot cheaper and easier to maintain than any of the small enterprise systems.

No matter what their marketing, PeopleSoft, Oracle, JDE, and for sure SAP do NOT scale down to the medium sized enterprise. Web 2.0 could have a significant impact on those markets for enterprise apps including HRIS.
