Web 2.0 refers to a generation of websites based around user-generated content, like Myspace, Digg, Reddit, Flickr, and Yahoo! Answers.
It isn't a "second internet", it's just a name for a certain type of web site.
Reply:Web 2.0 refers to a type of website, not a whole new internet. Sites in the 2.0 category are usually user driven, interactive, and feature large, brightly colored logos. Geni.com and Flickr.com are some examples.
